A paediatric dentist cares for all areas of children’s oral health from infancy right through to adolescence. A paediatric dentist is a dentist who has chosen to work with children has undertaken a further 3 years full time post-graduate training. This training provides the paediatric dentist with skills in managing behaviour, treating anxious children as well as treating children with special health care needs. A paediatric dentist also provides basic dental care for all children including treatment of dental decay, dental trauma, dental anomalies and interceptive orthodontics.
